Design
The patented Proven Flexible Blade System enables the turbine to generate power in light or strong winds. This unique system, a combination of innovative design and the latest techniques in advanced composite technology, allows the blades to bend and flex.
As the wind gets stronger, the blades twist to reduce their aerodynamic efficiency. This lets the Proven Energy turbine maintain a high output even in the fiercest storms, unlike many turbines which need to stop generating power to protect themselves at high wind speeds. The blades also regulate their speed, preventing damage if the load from the turbine is disconnected through a power cut or electrical fault.
Low Noise
A Proven Energy turbine is designed to minimize noise and maintenance. It has a direct drive generator, which operates without a gearbox. The generator load is continuously monitored to keep the blades rotating at a low speed, whilst optimizing power output.
Compared with other modern small turbines, the blade tip speed of a Proven Energy turbine is low. This means that noise is reduced substantially. All that can be heard is the swish of blades turning in the wind, which is virtually unnoticeable.
Low Maintenance
Proven Energy controllers are designed to run the system automatically and display power output from the turbine. The power connectors and turbine brake are easily accessible at the base of the mast.
There is no need for specialist skills. On installation you will receive an easy-to-follow user guide, which gives you all the information you need. We recommend regular maintenance checks for optimum performance. These can be carried out by a local Installer or Service Provider.

On February 17, 2009 President Obama signed the American Recovery and Re-investment Act of 2009 into law. With a significant emphasis on renewable energy technology deployment and job expansion, the bill improved upon the 2008 tax credit, by removing “cost caps.” This change allows consumers and small
businesses to take a 30% tax credit off the installed cost of a wind turbine. To a consumer or business purchasing a single 2.4KW residential wind turbine, it will double their credit. Additionally, businesses will also have the option of receiving their credit in the form of a cash grant. Whisper wind turbines feature a patented side furling angle governor to protect the turbine in high winds by turning the alternator and blades out of the wind. Other features include field adjustable voltage, a four bearing spindle for efficiency, upgraded yaw and a new bushing for smoother operation. Voltage is factory set at 24 VDC and is adjustable to 12/36/48 VDC. High voltage versions of the Whisper 200 and 500 produce 220 VAC transmitting to a step down transformer that changes it to nominal system voltage (transformer sold separately). High voltage versions are used in applications where there is a long distance from the turbine to the batteries.
Every Whisper 100 and 200 comes with the Whisper Charge Controller except for "HV" and 
pump models. The SCR-based shunt type controller, housed in a single unit, is dedicated to wind only. LED lights indicate regulations operation and Power On. Other features include individually rectified phases, battery/turbine shunt isolation, quiet diversion-powered fan, a large heat sink and easy access block connectors for turbine and battery wires.
The marine versions, designed for coastal and offshore applications, feature powder coating for corrosion protection, stainless steel hardware, marine grade wire and watertight housings, 5 year warranty.
